Flange Manufacturer Direct Class 2500 Carbon Steel Threaded Flange for Gas and Oil PipelinesASME/ANSI B16.5 FORGING FLANGE -- Class 2500 Threaded Flanges

The threaded flange manufactured by ASME B16.5 is similar to the slip-on flange, but the bore shall have a taper pipe thread conforming to ASME B1.20.1. The thread shall be concentric with the axis of the flange opening, and variations in alignment (perpendicular to the flange face) shall not exceed 5 mm per meter. Threaded flanges are available in sizes NPS 1/2 through NPS 24 for pressure ratings of Class 150, Class 300, Class 400, Class 600, and Class 900. Sizes for Class 1500 and Class 2500 are available from NPS 1/2 to NPS 2-1/2.

Variations in threading shall be limited to one turn large or one turn small from the gaging notch when using working gages. The reference point for chamfered thread (Class 150) gaging is the starting end of the threaded flange, provided the thread chamfer does not exceed the major diameter of the internal thread. When a chamfer on the internal thread exceeds this limit, the reference point becomes the last thread scratch on this chamfer cone. The reference point for counterbored thread (Classes 300 through 2500) gaging shall be the last thread scratch on the chamfer cone.
The threaded flange joint can be assembled without welding. A pipe, which is furnished with tapered threads at its ends, can be readily assembled with the threaded flange. This feature makes the threaded flange well-suited to extreme pressure services that operate at normal ambient temperatures and in highly explosive areas where welding may create a hazard.

(5) The gasket surface and backside (bearing surface for bolting) are made parallel within 1 degree. Spot-facing is carried out according to MSS SP-9, without reducing thickness(t) to accomplish parallelism. 
(6) ANSI B16.5 does not cover class 2500 Slip-on Flanges, Slip-on flanges are at the manufacturer's option.

STANDARD FINISHES for Face of Flange (ANSI  B16.5)

STOCK FINISH:
The most widely used gasket finish.because practically is suitable for all ordinary service conditions. This is a continuous spiral groove. Flanges size 12" (304.8mm)and smaller are produced with a 1/16" round-nosed tool at a feed of 1/32" per revolution. For sizes 14" (355.6mm)and larger. the finish is made with a 1/8" round-nosed tool at a feed of 3/64" per revolution.
SPIRAL SERRATED OR PHONOGRAPHIC:
This finish is produced by using a 90°round-nosed tool.
CONCENTRIC SERRATED:
This finish is produced by using a 90°round-nosed tool.
SMOOTH  FINISH:
The cutting tool employed shall have an approximate 0.06"radius.
The resultant surface finish shall have a 125μ inch to 250μ inch(ANSI B16.5 para 6.4;4.1)
1. RAISED FACE AND LARGE MALE AND FEMALE
    A serrated-concentric or serrated-spiral finish with 34 to 64 grooves per inch is used.
    The cutting tool employed has an approximate 0.06 in.radius.The resultant surface finish shall have a 125μ inch(3.2m)to 500μ inch(12.5μm) approximate roughness.
2. TONGUE AND GROOVE AND SMALL MALE AND FEMALE
    The gasket contact surface does not exceed 125μ in. (3.2μm)roughness
3. RING JOINT
    The inside wall surface of the gasket groove does not exceed 63μin.(1.6μm)roughness,
4. BLIND
    Blind flanges need not be faced in the center if, when this center part is raised, its diameter is at least 1 in. smaller than the inside diameter of the corresponding pressure class fittings. When the center part is depressed, its diameter is not greater than the inside diameter of the corresponding pressure class fittings. Machining of the depressed center is not required.
